Desk Accessories - With the advent of Suitcase, our lists of Desk Accessories grows longer and longer. Yet, there are certain DA's that we use much more than others and, often, these appear way down on the alphabetical listing. This means extra time scrolling. To have the most often used DA's near the top of our list, even though they may not start with the proper letters, use Resedit to change their titles by placing numbers, starting with 01-, 02-, 03-, etc. in front of the original name, since numeric characters will precede alpha characters in listing order. Do the following steps in sequence:
1. Open Resedit.
2. Double Click the System Folder.
3. Double Click Font/DAs Folder.
4. Double Click DAs.
5. Double Click DRVR.
6. SINGLE Click specific DA title.
7. Select GET INFO from File menu.
8. Place cursor in front of highlighted title.
9. Enter number desired (use 0 in front of single
digits), followed by hyphen.
10. Repeat as necessary for other DAs.
11. Close boxes, saving changes when dialogue
box appears.
Upon closing Resedit and checking your Apple Menu, you will find thenumbered DA's at the top of the list, possibly preceded only by those DA's using a symbol, such as an apple symbol, etc.
